Our 2-Day Introduction to the Industry Residential Training class is a great starting point for the aspiring entrepreneur. 3-Day Residential
Our 3-Day Residential training is for the slightly more experienced tech and covers all aspects of residential garage door and garage door opener installation and repair. This training is taught by an IDEA Master Technician who will show you our step by step Mount Onsite Method.
This method will give you an understanding of HOW and WHY you are doing things that will save you time and money. You will also have the opportunity to become an IDEA Certified technician, setting you apart from the competition. In our Commercial Opener training you will receive hands on training of multiple manufacturers such as Lift-Master, Powermaster, Raynor and BLE(Guardian) just to name a few.
Some things that will be covered are:
- Access Controls
- Programming
- Diagnostic procedures for electrical
- Safety Equipment (photo eyes, light curtains)
- Installs
- Troubleshooting
Rolling Steel
In our Rolling Steel training you can expect hands on installation of three rolling steel door, two with chain hoist operation, and one with motor operations. As well as a rolling shutter with manual operation. You will train on numerous manufacturers.
Some things that are covered:
- Installation with chain hoist
- Installation with motor
- Installation of rolling shutter
- Component Overview
- Troubleshooting

2-Day Fire Door
This training for the more experienced tech incorporates the two-day Commercial Rolling and Rolling Steel Fire Door class from IDEA with hands-on installation and inspection procedures. In order to follow NFPA 80 requirements you must pass and become certified to work on existing fire doors. At our facility you can TRAIN,TEST and get ALL 10 drop tests necessary to get certified.
Some things to expect are:
- Working with (2) motor operated rolling fire doors
- Working with doors connected to fire alarm control panels
- Proper Inspection Procedures for Fire Doors
- Various manufacturers of Fire Doors
- Installs
- Proper Routing of fuse links
